Professional Staff
David Condon, Chief Executive Officer
David Condon joined Diversified Nonprofit Services, LLC in 1985. David is a nationally-recognized expert on fund raising, capital campaigns and nonprofit strategy. He has provided professional counsel to hundreds of nonprofits. His expertise and passion for his clients' causes has been instrumental in clients closing over 200 solicitations of one million dollars or more.
David is an outstanding motivational and professional development speaker. He is able to communicate big ideas and practical advice. His presentations are successful at moving prospective donors to action. He energizes and motivates Board members and professional staff to higher levels of performance. Audiences consistently place him among the most informative and entertaining speakers at the conferences and events he attends.
David has extensive understanding of nonprofit management and he is an expert at applying successful business practices to the nonprofit sector. David began working with nonprofit agencies in 1968. He was Director of Special Services for the Derby, Connecticut Public School System and later was President and CEO of Durham Hill School, a nonprofit residential treatment facility for severely retarded/emotionally disturbed children and adolescents. In May 2007, David was inducted into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Alumni Hall of Fame in recognition of the positive influence and inspiration he has brought to the Boys & Girls Clubs movement.
David has worked with many organizations including Boy Scouts of America, Associations for Retarded Citizens, Humane Societies, Jaycees, The Leukemia Society, Drum and Bugle Corps, YMCA, Sheltered Workshops, Phi Delta Kappa International, Boys & Girls Clubs throughout the United States, as well as church, hospital, museum, and university groups.
David has a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and Psychology, a Masters Degree in Special Education and Psychology and an advanced graduate degree in Administration from Southern Connecticut State University.
Kevin Bingham, President
Kevin Bingham has guided improvements in the organizational capacity and effectiveness of numerous nonprofit organizations for over twenty years. He has conducted board development, resource development and strategic planning processes throughout the nation. In addition, Kevin’s leadership and consulting skills have enabled numerous nonprofits to achieve incredible heights of organizational success.
Misty Cato, Vice President
Misty Cato began her career with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nash/Edgecombe Counties located in Rocky Mount, NC in 2000 as a Unit Director at South Edgecombe Unit. Misty was promoted to Director of Operations for the agency. In this role, she oversaw the operations, staffing, and grant compliance for 5 units that served over 800 members daily.
In 2005, Misty became Unit Director with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pitt County in Greenville, NC, serving over 350 youth every day.
In 2006, Misty moved to the Brigade Boys & Girls Club. She implemented a comprehensive resource development plan that diversified funding and decreased dependence on government and grant funding. She oversaw the annual campaign that increased individual giving by more than 200%.Misty has also served as a National Training Associate and as a field consultant for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. She speaks regularly at regional and national conferences.
Misty is a member of the Wilmington Rotary Club, the Junior League of Wilmington and serves on the board of directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Cape Fear Region Chapter. Misty graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies.
Connie Condon, Senior Vice President
Connie has over seventeen years of experience in executive management of nonprofit organizations including multi-site child-care and before- and after-school programs, Boys & Girls Clubs, the YWCA, and Head Start programs at Community Action Agencies. Connie also has experience in the for-profit arena as the owner and operator of a day care center that served over 120 children.
Connie has participated in numerous community initiatives and developed key government and community collaborations that led to new program development. As Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Columbus, Indiana, Connie assisted in the merger of the Club, Girls Inc. and a community center program.
Connie has extensive experience and expertise in the areas of private, corporate and government grant research and grant writing. This experience includes Federal Head Start funding, School Lunch and Child Care Food Program support and State Bonding.
Immediately prior to joining DNS, Connie served as Coordinator for the Connecticut Area Council of Boys & Girls Clubs where she was responsible for private and government resource development, marketing, developing partnerships with key organizations, coordinating and facilitating Council committees and overseeing the statewide SMART Moves program.
Connie received a Bachelors Degree in child development from California State University and has completed work toward her post-graduate degree.
Thomas Gabianelli, Executive Vice President
Having sat on both sides of the fundraising table both as a donor and solicitor has prepared Tom Gabianelli to provide a unique perspective on the solicitation process which carries over into his solicitor training sessions during the campaign. Tom's knowledge of finance, accounting and business helps DNS clients to achieve a higher level of economic accountability.
Prior to joining DNS Associates in 1991, Tom was President & CEO of OmniBank of Connecticut. Tom's involvement in the community includes serving on the Board of Directors of the Valley United Way, Valley YMCA, Seymour Land Conservation, The Salvation Army of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, Citizens Advisory Committee, West Haven and Ansonia Businessman's Association, Advisory Board Chairman (Durham Hill School), State Association-Bank Operations Committee, and Connecticut Hurricanes World Champion Drum & Bugle Corps. He is also President of Northeast Data Com's Banking Committee.
Tom is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Finance, Class "A" School, and Brown University's School of Finance and Management.
Ed Massey, Senior Associate
Ed has over 35 years experience in the nonprofit sector. He joined Diversified Nonprofit Services in June 2008.
From 1993 through May 2008 Ed was the Regional Vice President for the Southwest Region of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. During that time Ed oversaw tremendous growth of local organizations in the eight state region. Local organizations increased from 94 to 236. Sites operated by those organizations increased from 255 to 770 and the total youth served grew from 250,000 to 800,000.
Ed also had the responsibility of resource development efforts in the region which included building a successful national trustee group that raises over $5,000,000 of operational support annually for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Prior to joining Boys & Girls Cubs of America, Ed served as Chief Professional Officer of several local Boys & Girls Clubs. While in those positions Ed completed successful capital campaigns and developed strong volunteer groups.
Ed has a Bachelors degree in Recreation Management from the University of New Mexico.
